Hi friend, how are you?

How often do you weigh yourself? I do about every morning, when I was heavier I obsessed and would multiple times a day, uhhhhgggggg, that never worked out well, not once

Nutritionists say there’s a thing called “The 4lb myth”
Lets say on Monday you weighed in at “____X___”
Okay new week, fresh start, you’re doing great, Thursday comes and we go out and get us some serious yummm yuymmmmzzzzz
Now Friday you no longer weigh “X” / you now weigh X plus 4 more lbs….
4 extra lbs overnight? Seriously? Only if you started training to become a sumo wrestler
If you eat on average 2,800 calories a day, you would need to consume 16,800 calories in one day to gain 4lbs of fat…. Yes, you read that right, an additional 14,000 calories to gain 4lbs of fat overnight…..
What the more likely culprit is is salt…..
You consumed far more sodium than normal on Thursday, your body can easily flush it out naturally in the next 24 -48 hours, a little less coffee and a lot more water for the next day or two should do the trick

Things like that can throw us off our game when we aren’t paying attention or just aren’t aware

I’m not a paid spokesperson for anything I’m about to mention, these are new and I’m looking into them now

1st off is our bathroom scale
Mine can do all kinds of “fanceeeee” stuff, but the new ones coming out now can actually measure visceral fat. It’s not the subcutaneous fat that kills us, no, it's visceral fat, the fat that strangles your organs
I do not care if your “Dr is pleased with your cholesterol”
Or if you aced your nuclear stress test for your heart
Yes those matter, they do, and don’t ignore them
But if you have high levels of visceral fat, that then creates :”fatty liver disease” and NOTHING else helps in comparison to better lifestyle choices… Non alcoholic fatty liver disease is reversible
Allllll of your panels can look great, but it will be that sneaky, super quite visceral fat that will get you, slowly, very very slowly…..
It’s cray cray to think the future is here, we can now track a multitude of things like our visceral fat ( is it increasing or decreasing ) with bathroom scales
Garmin makes a good one called Garmin Index S2, there are others out there

2nd: This is wilddddddd……..
How often do you go get blood drawn for labs?
Have you seen the patches you can now wear to measure certain levels of things done on blood tests?

They are getting better with them all the time
Direct to consumer blood testing is gaining popularity, the opinions are mixed
I haven’t tried them yet, but I do plan to
Everyone from Quest Diagnostics to Hims and Hers Co are now in that space

I haven’t even mentioned wearables that track fitness and sleep levels

Scientists and medical researchers alike are very optimistic about health and longevity options that are now on the horizon

At the end of the day we can have all of the latest and greatest, gizmos and gadgets out there, but in the end, it still comes down to how we got there in the first place to even need them. What we do in our everyday lives adds up to how we will be in our later days

Lately I’ve been making some good choices, and I’m feeling good with them too, seriously good to be honest, hope that you are too

Invest wisely, live charitably and be well
Brother Bill
