Hi friend, how are you?
Are you familiar that we as humans require 13 essential vitamins / minerals and 15 trace ( smaller ) minerals to make us work like the well oiled machines we are
It’s “finicky”
It’s “demanding”
It’s “unwavering with boundaries”
What we’re talking about is the mineral IRON
People with Anemia are obviously low on IRON
Women who have menstrual cycles can get low on IRON quickly
Those like me that donate blood on a regular basis will eventually run low
If you are low on IRON two things are 100% guaranteed
1st: You will get weak
2nd: You will get tired
It’s a super easy fix ( typically ) by simply taking a IRON supplement
Just eating more red meat and spinach wont do the trick here unfortunately, like I said, it’s “demanding”
Another thing that separates it from all the others is how our bodies absorb it
To get the best benefit we should take it immediately after waking up, with a Vitamin C
And if you do eat after taking it, it’s 1 hour minimum and ZERO dairy, ( cheese, milk, not even cheese cake! What the heck man!!! 😠 )
No coffee for until 2 hours after, no eggs either… uhhhgggggg….
Coffee will kill the absorption faster than anything else
Ohhhhh and fiber, I don’t know about you but I don’t know a person alive that gets the entire 30 grams of fiber a day we’re supposed to have, and now IRON wants us to have more fiber when we take it, “finicky” absolutely finicky …….
Dr’s don’t test for this unless you’re a female having monthly cycles
If you want it done on your yearly exam you have to request it
The extra cost is typically around $25.00
IRON is not tested in “full work ups”
IRON sounds pretty bad azz doesn’t it? If you think its not all that let yourself run low then tell us how that worked out for ya…
Boundaries, that one single mineral sets its own boundaries that are non negotiable
I had a really great discussion recently with a life long friend of mine
As we spoke she shared with me about how she had to set some boundaries with a gal / pal of hers
She told me that their friendship may never be the same again
Personally I hate to see any friendship dissolve unless there’s mistreatment
But I’m proud of my friend, she stood up for herself, forgave the lady, then told her if they were to continue as friends what the boundaries would be
In life we need that, boundaries can protect us from harmful situations before they even occur
They also reduce stress / strengthen our mental health / and cultivate more meaningful relationships
Do you have any friendships / relationships / situations that are “challenging?”
If so ask yourself if setting a boundary is what it needs to make it healthy
And if it can’t be healed, should you even be there at all?
Invest wisely, live charitably and be well
