Hi friend, how are you?
Are you an observant person? Do you notice when your friends or family have physical changes? If I have a saving grace that is it, I notice every single detail……
I can’t tell you how many times at church I’ve said to ladies, “Ohh you got cut and colored” and she will reply “Wowwwww my own husband didn’t even notice!!! “ lol….
Well a good buddy of mine from church just came back with his wife from Italy. They were gone for 18 days. And out of those 18 days they were exploring Italy with a tour group for 14 days… Immediately upon seeing my buddy I noticed, while away on vacation he lost about 15-20lbs. And he looks incredible…
The difference between those that get healthier thru lifestyle changes VS those that solely do something like a GLP1 is ASTRONOMICAL
My buddy is even walking different, it’s like he’s standing up straighter
The tour they did in Italy was what’s known as a walking tour
There were 29 adults, they averaged a MINIMUM of 8 miles a day
To achieve 8 miles taller adults would need roughly 17,000 steps
Shorter adults up to 20,000 steps The average age was 70. And the oldest to attend was a 81 y/o man
They used hiking poles or walking sticks to assist and going up and down steps / stairs was a normal part of their day
The food 🙃 When I asked him about it he said it was so next level you couldn’t believe it, and I believe him
In Italy you can eat pasta all day and not gain weight like American pasta
How is that even real you ask?
It’s INCREDIBLY SIMPLE
Italian pasta is made from 100% Durum Wheat / NO ADDITIVES….
They also slow dry their pasta which acts as a natural preservative
There’s other factors but you get the gist
Anytime I take one of my 2 - 3 week trips to South America it’s very common for me to drop on average of about 15lbs myself….. Down there walking every where to include the corner market is a daily occurrence..
Fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables are the norm, and they have bakeries on every street corner too but I can tell there’s a difference
Lets forget that 81 y/o gentleman for a moment that kept up with everyone on there 8 mile a day jaunts / which included countless amounts of stairs
Almost 30 people, all at the age of 70sh went and did that…
To say that’s a impressive feat would be a understatement
That’s more like a monumental accomplishment
But do you know what they had to of done throughout their lifetimes to be able to do that at 70?
Walk / workout / hike / bike / stretch / swim / golf / garden / make good choices
This isn’t what I planned on writing about today
But when I saw my buddy this morning he was so inspiring for me to do more of what I need to do to achieve my wellness goals I thought it would be a crime not to share
In no way / shape / or form do I consider myself a “influencer”
I do write on other outlets than just here, and sometimes make and share videos also
Just about / almost / every Saturday night I make a bonfire then workout by the fire before I sit and chill….
Last night ( after being out all day hiking and other things ) I cut up then chopped some wood, lots of wood….. Movement, our bodies were designed to move
When I tweaked my back on Labor Day weekend it affected the way that I walk
That then meant taking shorter steps, that then tightened my hips
Stretching is how I’m addressing that
And I’m going to start adding some basic stretching videos that I intend to make each week…
The video I’m sharing today though was from last night
Someone that saw it already said it sounded like a baseball being hit out of the park for a grand slam
That wood I was chopping up was 100% solid oak, I luvv splitting fresh cut oak / It’s as solid as steel / It’s a challenge
What are you going to do to challenge yourself this week?
Invest wisely, live charitably and be well
