Hi friend, how are you?
Tell me about your 4th of July, did you go see the boom booms?
Yesterday “Murica” turned 250
But where were you when it turned 200?
Were you even born yet?
I was 11 years old, standing on some steel bleachers, on The White House lawn with about 30 of my schoolmates, performing for the president and others, live on ABC, all while baking in the mid day sun
50 years ago, it seems like yesterday
Time fly’s, things change, but one constant is we all have the ability to make choices for our health and well being
Over the next 4 Sundays I’m going to share “Cheat Codes” for better health
This weeks starts with the vitamins and supplements we need
Regardless of your sex, age, race or anything else, there are a few vitamins every human should consider taking
This is going to be a list of what I take and why
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions
1st: Multi Vitamin
I don’t care what brand you get or from where, but make sure it says “Methylated” on the bottle….. Methylated means that the vitamin is already broke down for maximum absorption… If it’s Methylated it’s already a “cleaner” vitamin
2nd: Vitamin D with K3
Getting Vit D from the sun is the preferred method but not everyone’s body can absorb it the same
If all you do is take Vitamin D it wont absorb the way it does with K3
The #1 vitamin deficiency found in cancer patients is Vitamin D
I am not suggesting Vit D cures cancer, I’m saying low levels have a harder time fighting cancer cells
Vit D strengthens cells and creates a “defense” within the body
3rd: Creatine
It’s not just for bodybuilders anymore. Creatine is hands down the most studied dietary supplement around. Not only does it help with muscle recovery, allowing you to keep your strength longer in life, it’s widely accepted in the medical community as beneficial for those over the age of 50 to help slow down mental decline
A few things to know:::
Take it around the same time every day ( many take it in the morning )
Powder is much better than the pills, you wont taste it with water
Look for creatine made in Germany, ~the purity level~ of creatine made in Germany is extremely superior to all others
4th: Omega 3
Take Omega 3 over Fish Oil. Both help with inflammation, but Omega 3’s do more for the heart
Eating salmon once or twice a week doesn’t hurt, but you need Omega 3’s daily to get proper heart health benefits. Or just eat salmon 7 days a week…
5th: Magnesium
Magnesium helps support the immune system and boosts energy
Some believe it helps with night time leg cramps
6th: Salt
No, just no to the stuff that comes in the blue container. That is iodized, use that to melt the ice on your driveway, but don’t put it in your system
Instead use a Himalayan Pink salt or a quality Sea Salt
Salt is natures electrolyte
7th: Water
Friends and family both are always surprised to hear that I have never even come ballpark remotely close to ever needing cholesterol meds
After all it’s hereditary right? Not so much
Very very few “inherit it”, most follow the lifestyle habits their parents had and then they get high cholesterol too
All of my siblings are on cholesterol meds, I’m not. And I’m the oldest and heaviest
Both of our parents needed them, all of our grandparents did too, why not me??????
My belief is this:::::
Every morning when I wake up the first thing I drink ( yes before coffee ) is water
What I add is organic extra virgin cold pressed olive oil
7 days a week I start my day by pouring a shot of olive oil into 8 ounces of water
It’s that olive oil in that amount 7 days a week that coats my veins
Along with the olive oil I put a small pinch of sea salt in there too
Our brains become dehydrated when we sleep, they need to be replenished
8th: B Complex
We need B6 and B12 / Just take the B Complex get it over with unless you are deficient and specifically need more of one
Those are vitamins
Lets talk about supplements
9th: If you’re over the age of 50 Calcium
Calcium helps to strengthen your bones
When taking Calcium it is often best to be taken at a separate time than medications
Calcium can sometimes interfere with some medications absorption due to it’s strength
10th: Glucosamine and Chondroitin
Here’s why and how they differ from Calcium
While Calcium strengthens bones / G +C reduces inflammation inside the joints
Side Note: G + C is normally taken twice a day at spaced out times
11th: Fiber………… Uhhhhgggggggggggg……..
Here’s the deal, and it’s legit, we all need more of it
The average American only gets ½ of what is needed
Men get less than women… Yet women require less… Go figure…..
Next Sunday I’m not gong to sell you on a diet to eat but which foods do what
So lets say you’re not eating broccoli 6 times a day and you need some more fiber
Use Psyllium Husk
Not Metamucil or any of that lab produced junk / Those have more chemicals than lawn pesticides
Psyllium Husk is 100% natural / One single nature made ingredient only / And it works
If you need to put it in the blender with some fruit or vegetables do it that way
But there is nothing else out there like it
Not only does it help you “go” it’s also used to help lower cholesterol and stabilize blood sugar
This is another one you shouldn’t take at the same time as prescription meds
Take it 2 hours before or after as to not interfere with the meds
12th: Whey Protein
You’re not getting enough protein, trust me, you’re not
Lets say a person weighs 200lbs
JUST TO MAINTAIN / JUST TO MAINTAIN / JUST~~ TO~~ MAINTAIN
Just to maintain the current muscle that they have a 200lb person needs to consume 160 grams of protein a day… So for every 10lbs of bodyweight we need 8grams of protein…. Those wanting to build muscle use more
One egg is only 6 grams of protein
8 ozs of chicken breast has 40 grams of protein
8 ozs of salmon has 43 grams of protein
8 ozs of steak has 56 grams of protein
More and more men and women both are upping their protein intake these days by adding in Whey Protein shakes. Calculate how much your getting, then think about it
Let me know what part of this helped you
And don’t forget to tell your friends about itsagoodlife.info 😉
