Hi friend, how are you?

Every Monday I write a piece that I try to make inspirational for others to workout
The focus most of the time is long term health
How it’s scientifically proven the more we lift, the stronger we are, the longer we will live
And not only live longer, but healthier, more pain free, reduce chances of cognitive decline and less sickness too
That is not “Bro science”
That is actual science
And I can share thousands of studies and real life examples to back it up

The #2 reason for us to stay strong is the less talked about but crucial as well
If, and God forbid, but if we ever need to use it to protect loved ones, ourselves, our homes and or our property

The other night I was out in my driveway, had the garage door up as I’d been working outside. As I was standing next to my truck a pickup came down my street, they didn’t see me but saw that my garage door was open and then came to a complete stop

The truck was newer, man and a woman mid 50s
I was in a position to watch them as they were still unaware I was there
Well they looked around to see if anyone was out, then the guy was getting ready to get out of his truck. That would of been his biggest mistake….

I then walked around and out into my driveway, they saw me and took off, and they took off fast
The neighborhood I live in is nice, no problems, but it can get drive thru traffic

The FBI says that 85 to 90% of all property crimes are “Crimes of Opportunity”
Meaning that they were unplanned and happened upon
Criminals may go out planning to steal
But few say “I’m going over to Bobs to steal ___________________”
They come across stuff, like a open garage door

I’m a ARMY Veteran
Worked in law enforcement
And grew up pretty “street smart” as I over heard my mom and her friends saying one day
Many have said just carry a gun, okay that’s one thing
But what if the bad guy has one too? Or tries to fight you for yours?
It happens, trust me, it happens

I’m 61 now, not 28
Staying strong at this stage of life is a choice
Being strong at 28 may come naturally, but to keep that same strength by the time your 34 is a choice also

The next time you’re thinking of missing a workout remember, you may not want to lift, but one day you might need to be able to protect the ones that you love
And no ones ever regretted being able to do that
