Hi friend, how are you?

What are you good at? It doesn’t have to be just one thing, it can be as many as you want
Maybe your a double / triple black belt ninja ( that would be cool )
Or maybe you won the blue ribbon in the counties cake bake off ( can we be friends? )😃

We all have something, so what skill / talent / asset do you possess that makes you good at something?
Now, what’s your plan on how to improve on that?

This last week I got a “come up” if you will
Everyone knows that welding metal art is a passion of mine
But a guy I know, well he’s been a fulltime professional welder for the railroad his entire working career
To say that he is good is an understatement
On a scale of 1 - 10 on a regular day I’m a strong 7 if things are just right ( in “welding world” that almost never happens )
Next to him, welding next to him on that same scale he’s an 11 and I’m a 3, maybe a 4

Humbled, possibly, but amazed is more like it
The level of his “flow” wasn’t realistic
It was like he just looked at it and the project did itself
I had everything set up and ready to go before he got here
In that one brief hour I learned more than I have in the past year trying to study on my own. Some stuff I wish I’d of learned years ago when I first started.. The bonus for me is I already knew what he was talking about, but he tied up some loose ends and made them make sense

This is not the 1st of the last time in history this has ever happened

Eddie Van Halen called Alice Cooper asking him to introduce him to Glen Campbell
Campbell then taught Van Halen how to finger pick the way he did, after that the song “Eruption” was born… Those of you that were around in the 80s remember that one

Magic Johnson was once asked at what age did he realize that he was different?
He said in the 7th grade. Johnson said at that time he had a choice, he knew he could stay and play with kids his age and dominate, or go to where the “big kids” were and shoot his shot. Johnson said he was humbled quickly, but he then learned

No matter how big or good we get at something, someone, somewhere is always going to be / or get better at it than us. That’s just a part of survival of the species
Where will you place yourself to be the best that you can be?
