META passwords have been leaked
META passwords
About 3 weeks ago or so I shared about online security
The very next day it was reported that ATT got hacked
It’s believed but not confirmed that Amazon passwords were hacked prior to that
FORBES financial magazine is now reporting that 16 Billion passwords for Apple, Google and META users were just leaked
I’m going to re-share my original writing from 3 weeks ago
One thing that I am adding is to NEVER use the same password for multiple accounts
Did you know that today is National Change your Password Day??
Yes it is……
That’s something I do often
The longer you keep a password the easier it becomes to be hacked
Here are some basic, simple ways for keeping your password protected accounts safe:
Change passwords at least once a quarter
The longer the password the better
Never use less than 16 characters, over 30 preferable
Use as many special characters as you can
And upper case letters too
Like this:::
P+w=5J%2N3c*8(P6UaH@”kEc&-!X<L9
Do not, do not, do NOTTTTTTTTTTTTTT ever use a password that you can remember
If need be buy a password creator online
They can automate them for you, store them and then recreate new ones
Don’t use passwords that are predictable
Like CatsAndDogs…….. CottonCandy……. BlueSky………
You might as well use PleaseHackMe
When ever available use 2 methods of authentication
If your bank, credit card, or websites offer a phone password ( in way of text, usually 6 digits ) as your 2nd method of authentication or a QR code, use the QR code as it’s more secure
The weekend is here, my hope is that you get outside and take in all of natures splendor
Invest wisely, live charitably and be well
