What type of music do you like?
One of my all time favorite bands is “The Eagles” Their sound is very unmistakably their own. The Eagles were extremely prominent in California style music in the 70’s then the 80’s. And their sound is still listened to today
Their sound, the sound itself, it was different wasn’t it? Very, very different
Do you know what made their sound so different?
As a guitar player I do
They had not one but two lead guitarists, on stage, playing together, at the same time
Joe Walsh and Don Fender
Even though The Eagles had dozens of hits like One of these Nights / Lying Eyes / and Already Gone / Hotel California is probably the most recognizable. It’s Walsh and Fender at the end of the song going back and forth / back and forth / andddddd then back and forth / both playing lead / at the same time / that created that unforgettable rhythmic rift
It was evident how the two guitarists challenged each other when on stage….
Fans lined up for tickets to sold out shows
Musicians would go see them not just to see a great show, but to witness the two “Guitar Gawds” duking it out side by side thus creating those melodic masterpieces that are still loved today….
Dynamic Duos like that don’t come along every day
Not just in music but in many aspects of life
What are you good at?
What can you do that is fun for you and that you are good at?
Who brings that out in you? What or who drives you to a deeper dive to be the best version of that you can be?
On paper that sounds like a lot, but in reality it’s not as heavy as it sounds
Maybe you like to garden, I do…. But the retired teacher at the end of my street is in the Master Gardner program
Maybe you’re into baking, ever thought about entering a local contest?
The point of this is that there are always others that not only enjoy the same things you do, but may be good at it also, and connecting with others that are like minded, just might make you the best that you can be at what you do
My hope for you is that you connect with and allow those people into your life
