Hi friend, how are you?
Hot there? It is here in Kansas City, and just about every where else I hear
Kansas City like most other big cities has lots of highways
One thing that is very noticeable to visitors and it is immediate, is when you get on or off a exit ramp to change highways here
First off if you ever travel here don’t worry if you get lost
We have 3 on and off ramps for every football field in length
It is seriously re-donc-u-lous how many on ramps to the highways we have
Then what happens is to enter off of a road unto a highway is short, I mean very very very short….. Those of us that have lived here forever are accustomed to it and just deal with it
Many who visit say that they don’t want to drive here as they fear getting in wrecks
Today at church I ran into a buddy of mine, a few years older than me, married, kids, grandkids, all of them very loved and active in the church
My buddy is highly educated / funny / smart / smart / smart man
This morning he dropped a bomb shell on me, he has cancer
It stopped me in my tracks, they aren’t sure if they caught it in time, we are all praying that they did
Life is not a drag race, it’s a long road trip
And sometimes it’s going to give us bumps. unexpected turns, and maybe even some quick exists
We only get so many 4th of July’s in our lives
Take the kids, the grandkids, go somewhere that they put on big giant displays, watch the boom booms
Full moons, we only get so many of those too, those special nights where everything is big and bright and the night time seems endless
Tomorrow, Monday, June 29, 2026 is going to be the full moon
It’s actually going to be “The Strawberry Moon” one of my favorites
We don’t have to travel the world to create unforgettable moments
We only need to take in what is right there in front of us that we then make our own
