Hi friend, how are you?
This is one of those things I don’t even have to ask, we all fall into this
There are going to be days / times in life when we just don’t want to do what we need to do to get what we want
Earlier today I had a incredibly honest / open / transparent conversation with lady I know
She’s 65 - 70sh / married / kids / grandkids / still working full time
What she shared was this::::::
She walks a lot, part of it is her job, maybe 15K steps a day, but is noticing her body is getting weaker and that her back is curling or shoulders hunching forward
We talked about strength training
She was very receptive and actually wanted to hear more
The challenge for her is the same for all of us / long day / tired / it’s soooo very easy to just sit on the couch and watch tv as she said / and she’s right
This isn’t just about working out
It’s about doing what we need to do to get to where we want to be
That can come in many facets in life
I’ve shared before and I will again, part of success in anything in life is doing what we have to do so we can then do what we want to do
Writing is in my soul
Writing frees my soul
But today I have a belly full of bbq / the daylight change last night / Halloween was last night and I didn’t sleep much and about 293 other things trying to stop me from writing this / but here we are / and thankfully so
I’m not just stopping here / right now it’s going on 6pm CST
I’m still going to go to the gym in a few / might not get on a big bad power lifting workout / but I’m going to go and dead hang a few times to stretch out my back
We all know that helps alleviate back issues to include arthritis later in life
Plus it’s been cool / grey / drizzly and I haven’t done to much in the way of movement
What ever your goals / objectives may be in life one thing that can separate us from ever reaching them is if we decide to do what needs to be done / and if we then do those things or not
Are you familiar with Jocko Willink? If not he’s a former Navy Seal Commander / I’ll leave it at that, his list of accomplishments would take to long to list… lol…
